Walter Houghtaling has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for The Legal Center for People with Disabilities and Older People. The Legal Center is a nonprofit organization protecting the human, civil and legal rights of people with disabilities and older people. It provides direct legal representation, education, advocacy, and legislative analysis to promote the independence, self-determination, empowerment and community participation of its clients. Specializing in civil rights and discrimination issues, the organization helps people obtain state and federally funded services, such as special education, mental health services, developmental disabilities services, and vocational rehabilitation to promote systemic change to sustain or improve the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities and senior citizens.

McConnell Fleischner Houghtaling, LLC is a proud sponsor of the Legal Center’s Attorneys’ Night Out – a yearly fundraising event and necessary effort to help defray the ever increasing costs associated with the services provided by the Legal Center. Cindy Fleischner to speak at ABOTA Conference

We are proud to announce Cindy Fleischner has been asked to speak at the First Annual Teachers’ Law School sponsored by the Colorado Chapter of The American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). Cindy’s topic is “The Constitution and High School Students: Balancing Interests on School Grounds”. The seminar will be held on Thursday and Friday, April 7th and 8th, at the Denver Convention Center. This two day seminar will provide teachers a crash course on legal issues affecting educators.

Walter Houghtaling was invited to attend the Arrupe Magis fundraiser on February 26th, 2011. One of two student speakers at the Magis Event was one of our very first students, Jesus Avila. Jesus was excited to tell Walter he will be graduating from Regis University in June with a degree in business administration and politics. Jesus was thankful for the opportunity MFH gave him 8 years ago. Walter was pleased to catch up with Jesus and hear about his successes.

DENVER (January 19, 2011) – McConnell Fleischner Houghtaling & Craigmile, LLC a well-known group of trial lawyers who focus on defending professionals and professional organizations in malpractice matters, has changed their firm name to McConnell Fleischner Houghtaling, LLC.
